Mr. Alexander Williams was appointed Chairman of the JADCO Board of Directors during April 2016. He is an Attorney-At-Law who has been practicing at the private bar in both civil and criminal cases for the past 26 years. However, he specialises in civil litigation. He has experience in constitutional law claims, all commercial litigation, judicial review of administrative action, personal injury and industrial relations and labour law.
He holds a LLB (Hons.) from the University of the West Indies, Mona and a Certificate in Legal Education from the Normal Manley Law School.
Mr. Williams previously served as Chairman of the JADCO board between 2008 and 2011. He has also served on the boards of other national institutions, including the National Family Planning Board, National Water Resources Authority (NWRA), the Kiwanis Foundation of Jamaica, St. John’s Primary School and Jonathan Grant High School.
Between 2012 and 2016, Mr. Williams was a Senator and during those years served on several joint select committees of parliament, including committees dealing with banking, bankruptcy, insolvency, police oversight, corruption and integrity, sexual offences and committal proceedings.
Mr. Williams has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Spanish Town since 1995 and has served in different capacities including President from 2000 to 2001.
