Today, April 11 marks play true day, a worldwide initiative led by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to champion clean sport.
Since its inception in 2014, Play True Day has grown from a small regional effort into a global movement, uniting athletes, organisations, and support personnel in promoting the values of fair play and integrity in sports.
It’s a day to celebrate the athletes who compete clean and to reinforce the importance of protecting the integrity of sport for generations to come.
This year’s theme, “Play True: It Starts with You,” emphasises the individual responsibility each person holds in safeguarding the spirit of clean competition.
The Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) encourages athletes, coaches, and all support personnel to reflect on their role in upholding these values and to actively participate in the digital campaign.
Your voice and actions matter in strengthening the foundation of clean sport. Play True Day serves as a powerful reminder that true victory is achieved through dedication, hard work, and fair play.
Happy Play True Day!
