GOVERNMENT OF JAMAICA

INDEPENDENT ANTI-DOPING DISCIPLINARY PANEL

The Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel (IADP) is independent of JADCO and is appointed by the Minister of Sport. Each member of the Panel holds office for a period of three years. The objective of the Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel is to determine the sanctions handed down to athletes who have committed Anti-Doping Rule Violations.

This is the Panel that determines if an Anti-Doping Rule Violation has occurred and imposes the sanction on the athlete, not JADCO. However, JADCO has the right to appeal the sanctions imposed by the Panel. The two major bodies that have the power to overrule the Disciplinary Panel are the Anti-Doping Appeal Tribunal and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), an international judicial body with its headquarters located in Lausanne, Switzerland.
