JADCO and WADA to Sign Joint Declaration of Intent for GAIIN Americas Intelligence and Investigation Conference

Kingston, Jamaica – March 25, 2026 – The Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO), in partnership with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), will formally sign a Joint Declaration of Intent to host the Global Anti-Doping Intelligence & Investigations Network, GAIIN Americas Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Conference, scheduled for September 2027.

The official signing ceremony will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport (MCGES), Rooftop, in Kingston.

This landmark agreement marks a significant step toward strengthening collaboration across the Americas to combat doping and related illicit activities. The upcoming conference aims to:

  • Identify, detect, and prevent the use of illicit substances in sport
  • Safeguard public health and protect livelihoods
  • Strengthen border security through improved detection of transnational criminal activities such as drug trafficking
  • Identify high-risk individuals involved in illicit activities entering national ports.

The GAIIN Americas Conference will serve as a high-level forum, bringing together key stakeholders including law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities (such as immigration, customs, and passport services), intelligence professionals, policymakers, and subject-matter experts. Participants will discuss emerging threats, best practices, and innovative investigative techniques.

Representatives from WADA, the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, JADCO, national sporting federations, and other strategic partners are expected to attend the signing ceremony.

Executive Director of JADCO, June Spence Jarrett, emphasised the importance of the initiative, noting, “This Joint Declaration of Intent represents a critical step forward in strengthening intelligence-led approaches to protecting clean sport. By working collaboratively with our international and regional partners, we are enhancing our capacity to detect, deter, and disrupt doping and related illicit activities.”

Spence Jarrett added, “Hosting the GAIIN Americas Conference in Jamaica positions the country as a leader in advancing intelligence and investigation within the anti-doping landscape. It also underscores our commitment to safeguarding athletes, upholding integrity in sport, and contributing to broader national and regional security efforts.”

The Joint Declaration underscores Jamaica’s commitment to clean sport, strengthened intelligence-sharing, and enhanced investigative capacity across sectors. It also reinforces the country’s role as a regional leader in anti-doping and collaborative security initiatives.

JADCO extends appreciation to its partners and stakeholders for their continued support in advancing the global anti-doping agenda and looks forward to the successful staging of the 2027 conference.
