JUNIOR ATHLETES ANTI-DOPING EDUCATION WORKSHOP – KINGSTON

Danny Williams, Chairman of the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO), The Honourable Natalie Neita Headley, Minister without Portfolio for Sport and Carey Brown, Executive Director, JADCO engage in dialogue with Amique Willis, student, St. Hugh’s High School  and Beresford Sweeny, student, Ardenne High School. The occasion was the Junior Athletes Anti-Doping Education Workshop for athletes and athlete support personnel, from schools in Kingston and St. Andrew and St. Thomas on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at the Jamaica Conference Centre (JCC). JADCO collaborated with the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) to host the first in the series of five workshops which will be held islandwide. As a result of the workshop, participants were able to increase their knowledge of the role of JADCO, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Jamaica Anti-Doping Programme. They were also informed of the Doping Control Process, banned substances and the role of support staff.
